Spring is in the air...(corny but true!) Pt 2

Ahh...my dear fans, due to bad weather and poor internet connection, I did not post anything last weekend...so there will (hopefully) be 2 installments this week.

So...what do you all think? Aren't the flowers wonderful? I've got more pictures to share in this installment. For some reason unbeknownst to me, all the 'blomin' activities (pardon the pun) have been more vigorous this week! So, I have added some photos of the plants from the previous installment to do them justice.

Who knew that blue and yellow would go so well together?!

Ahhh...soo pretty...

Good morning Morning Glory!!

Don't know the name of this one...anybody???

Looks like a trombone...

Bigger pics are nicer don't you think? This is a tiny flower, the size of one's thumb

Looks like eyes..."I am watching you..."
Reminds me of the song "Rose rose I love you...da da da da da..." Can't remember the rest of the song tho
The texture of these flowers are dizzying...@-@
This flower was the only one blooming in the entire bush...
White trombone?
Strange looking plant ain't it?
Before...(scroll down...all the way down...)
Have you seen a purple tree before? Pink? Sure, PURPLE - No...But they exist! I've been told that they are called jackarandas here...I see them as the equivalent to the sakura trees in Japan. Unfortunately, unlike Japan, there is no organised 'hanabi' picnics here. Transplanting the concept to this part of the world would be great though.

Radishes!!! Sprouting radishes!!!
If you would recall, I mentioned a Project Turnip last week...it is supposed to be called Project Radish!!! My mushy brain confused turnips and radishes!!! @-@
mah babies...
Back to progress update...radishes are sprouting all over and so far I have counted over 40 sprouts with new ones popping out every day. Woo hoo!! There are still some weeks to go, so fingers crossed ya. This is 'you reap what you sow' in a literal sense!
I was not expecting the seeds to sprout soo quickly, so imagine my surprise (a good one of course) when I came home the third day after the seeds were sown to see little green shoots coming out of the pot. Then the whole scene got a little sentimental (silly goose)...I am witnessing the miracle of life. So okay, it is not like seeing a baby coming into this world, but it is still a pretty amazing feeling.

Someone asked me if I felt like the radishes were my babies and I said yes...the perverse thing is I have every intention of eating the radishes when they mature...ewwww...I might need to rethink this one. On the bright side though, this is not as bad as the time when we had chickens (which had names)!

Pink rose...

After!!!

Cheerios!

Spring is in the air...(corny but true!)

Spring is in the air...
the birds twittering...
the spiders are out of hibernation (building up the webs...more cobwebs)...
the lizards scurrying about (ewww...shudder)...
and most of all the flowers are rioting out of control!
Yes...the FLOWERS! (this is not about 'the birds and the bees')

There I was,  taking a stroll home along the path that I have taken dozens of times before. It was the end of the work week and I was feeling pretty relaxed...I started noticing the flowers along the street.

After a pretty stark winter, the flowers have been pretty amazing - beautiful, lush, vibrant flowers blooming like there was no tomorrow. Even the weeds were at their best.

So, this blog entry is all about flowers and where better to start than in our own garden. I have no idea what these flowers are called...so feel free to share with everyone by leaving a comment.

These days as I get home, I'll be greeted by a sweet flowery scent, wafting in the the soft breeze...One day technology will allow us to 'save' experiences and 'upload' onto the internet, then maybe you will experience what I feel everyday. Until then, words and pictures will have to suffice...OR my friends, just move here! ^-^

I'll be posting more pictures in the coming weeks, so stay tuned...

Speaking of spring, my chilli plants are growing well. There were a few scares in the beginning, when the shoots mysteriously 'dissappeared', but they are now flourishing. Chillis have been transplanted from the sowing box into a larger pot. The roots have really developed over the last month...fingers crossed, it will continue to grow well in the new pot.

Have also started on Project Turnip. The seeds have been sown today...lets see what happens over the next 8 weeks. According to the packaging, the turnips should start to sprout in 5-8 days and mature in 6-8 weeks. I am looking forward to the salad that I can make with the turnips! Alas the ones that come from your own garden will always taset sweeter (even if it doesn't I am not going to admit that am I?!). I am hoping that it will be a good harvest.
But no, I will not be dancing around bon-fires or offering sacrifices to encourage growth. If all else fails, I am going into the supermarket and just buy some...

This is what it looks like now...more to come when there are changes!

Some of you (in Singapore) would probably be wondering - "how come friends who has left seems to end up with a blog?"

Tell you what...it is because we miss you all soo much that we thought we would share a part of ourself with you (speaking for myself of course).

I've always had thoughts going on in my head (like most homosapiens)...so...why not share it with other people. Okay, so most of you would probably be too preoccupied with your own life to want to add my preoccupations to yours. So just in case you are looking for a light read...I am hoping that this may be an option for you!

Sounds like an advert??? Well why not, I've probably has got your attention now (fingies crossed).

Anyway...this is my first post and hopefully not my last.

HUUEYY'S VISION STATEMENT:
Light read, lots of laughter (no guarantees) and most of all...these are just my musings...
